Geert De Turck was born and raised in Belgium, where he studied architecture. He received his master’s degree from SCI-ARC and has had a residential and retail architectural practice for many years. He will soon become an American citizen, hopefully in time to vote. As a potter, his influences are Lucie Rie for her simplicity, Edmund De Waal for his erudition, and Rupert Spira for all those swirly words. When he moved to the U.S. he lived on Abbot Kinney when it was still known as West Washington Blvd. and now lives in Santa Monica with his husband, two kids, two dogs, and five birds. He doesn’t even like birds.
